Unconventional tips that might actually be useful
Discussing the process feels like a possible jinx, and I suspect that this is at least part of reason people tend to be hidden and secretive.
Writing is only one of the tasks of writing, the other is believing that you can and should and have something worthwhile to say.
And if you can't, here's some suggestions.
How do you stay engaged when the process isn't fun? How do you keep the faith when you feel like everything you write is shit?
No book emerges without some kind of external support or sacrifice or privilege.
